The clean rule: if the contents are soft and can carry their own shape, the mailer wins. If anything inside needs the packaging to hold a shape, it does not.
How a large mailer behaves under load
A full 19x24 is a heavy, floppy parcel. In a sorting network it will be stacked under other parcels, slid along conveyors and gripped at whatever point is nearest.
That makes weight distribution the thing to control. A load packed evenly across the whole footprint spreads pressure and stays flat. The same weight concentrated in one corner turns into a pendulum, and a pendulum finds the weakest point of the seal.
It also makes the label placement decision more consequential than on a small bag. Labels need a flat, taut area with no fold running through it, and on a large soft parcel you have to create that area deliberately when you pack.

Weight thresholds and shipping
Consolidating orders changes which pricing band a parcel falls into, and the saving is not automatic. Weigh and measure a realistically packed sample before you switch a whole flow across, because a consolidated parcel can cross a threshold that two smaller parcels stayed below. Checks before a large-format order ships
Large-format runs are checked for seal integrity along the full length of both welds, because a weld flaw that would be tolerable on a small bag is a failure at this size and load.
Print registration is checked across the width, where drift is easiest to see on a wide panel. Adhesive release is checked on samples taken through the run, and carton counts are verified before dispatch.

Can a 19x24 mailer replace a shipping carton?
For soft goods that hold their own shape, usually yes, and it removes both the carton weight and the void fill. For anything rigid, fragile or crush-sensitive it cannot, because a flexible bag provides no structure.
How many garments fit in this size?
It depends entirely on weight and loft rather than count. Four to five folded tees is comfortable; two heavyweight hoodies fills it. The reliable answer is to pack a real order into a sample before committing to a volume.
Do shipping labels stay on large poly mailers?
They do when the parcel is packed flat and the label sits on a taut area with no fold beneath it. Labels lift when they are applied across a crease or over slack film, so the fix is in the packing rather than the label.
Is this size available with a gusset?
Yes, and at this volume it is worth quoting both. A gusseted bag produces a squarer parcel that stacks better in a cage, which matters when parcels are handled by machine.
